About Our Camp

Ocean County Camp Montage

Dear Parents,

Thank you for inquiring about Young People’s Day Camp of Ocean & Monmouth Counties. This summer will be our 40th year in the New York/New Jersey area.

What makes Young People’s Day Camp of Ocean & Monmouth Counties so exciting are the daily trips and special events that we attend.

This years trips will be to the movies, bowling, roller-skating, BlueClaws games, FunTime America, FunMania, Club Cool, Bowcraft Amusement Park, Popcorn Park Zoo, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Island Beach State Park, Ocean County Park, Medieval Time, Swimming Pool, Thundering Surf Waterpark, Tuckerton Seaport, Barnegat Lighthouse, and much, much more.

At Young People’s Day Camp, safety is our top priority. All group counselors are teachers or college students over the age of 18. The ratio of campers to counselors is less than 8:1 (lower in younger age groups). Our directors are teachers and administrators, with many years of camping experience.

Parents love Young People’s Day Camp, for its convenience and value. We offer 5-day programs, for any amount of weeks (2-8). Free door-to-door transportation is included in our affordable tuition. All activities, trips (except Medieval Times and Bowcraft Amusement Park), insurance, shirts, camp bag, trophies, and awards are included.

If you have any questions, or would like to attend our next open house, please give Tony a call direct at 609-698-1643. You may also e-mail Tony Frigone at tonyypdcnj@yahoo.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the people in charge, and what are their qualifications?
Our Director and all Head Counselors are certified teachers in New Jersey. The rest of our counselors are college students and all over the age of eighteen.
Is the camp insured?
Absolutely - each camper is covered through our medical and liability insurance.
Is the camp licensed?
Yes- we are licensed and inspected randomly by the State of New Jersey Health Department, which visits us several times during the summer to ensure that we are in compliance with the rules and regulation of this organization.
Are medical personnel available?
Young People's of Ocean & Monmouth Counties always has EMT, lifeguards, and CPR certified personnel on the premises. A registered nurse and/or a doctor are always on call.
Who are the counselors?
Our counselors are mostly college students and teachers. All of our counselors are people who are either known to us as former campers, or individuals who have been recommended and have impeccable credentials.
How do the children get to camp?
The campers are transported to and from their home by buses, which are driven by professional, certified Brick Township Board of Education bus drivers. While many camps lease buses and have the counselors drive them, Young People's of Ocean & Monmouth Counties believes that it is much safer to leave the driving to the professionals.
How do I pay for camp?
Upon registration, a deposit is required. The balance is broken up into a series of payments, to make payment as comfortable as possible. There are no registration fees, interest fees, or service charges. (credit card, money orders, and checks are accepted)
What happens if I have to get in touch with you or my child during the camp day?
No problem – in case of an emergency, Call Tony at 609-698-1643.
